“IGNITE TEAM VISIT at SZABIST”

NGIRI-Ignite visited SZABIST Karachi Campus with the purpose of onsite monitoring the winning Final Year Projects. SZABIST ORIC (Office of Research Innovation & Commercialization) hosted the visit along with FYP coordinators on 21st Oct 2022.
Ignite funds startups and innovative projects that utilize fourth industrial wave tech to solve local problems and target global opportunities in health, education, energy, agriculture, telecom, finance, and other verticals. Ignite national network of incubators across Pakistan nurtures startups and engages them with investors and corporations. Ignite outreach activities seek to inform professionals, media, students, corporations, media, and policymakers about the challenges and threats posed by the new economy and the importance of innovation and seek to increase engagement in Ignite programs.
Mr. Muhammad Jehanzeb Shahid (Deputy Manager Ignite Monitoring) arrived at SZABIST at 2:00 pm on Friday 21st Oct 2022. Team ORIC gives a warm welcome and briefs him about the ORIC SZABIST working procedure. Ms. Zareesh Zahra (Ignite Focal person in SZABIST) shared the summary of projects, equipment details expenditure reports, and financial disbursement process for Ignite winning Fyps of every year. Mr. Jehanzeb also visit Computer science and Mechatronics labs to ensure project equipment are same as submitted in expenditure reports and exists under the custody of SZABIST. During the lab visit, Mr. Jahanzeb also discuss the scope of winning FYPs and took briefings from students and their FYP supervisors.
However, after the visit, a panel discussion was arranged in SZABIST 99 meeting room where Ignite representative share their reservations, policies, and exchanged thoughts for a better approach to project submission and expenditure reports. Ignite also asked the university to share their semester schedules so ignite could keep the university timelines while restructuring the submission deadlines. The panel includes Team ORIC, FYP coordinators from the Computer science and Mechatronics department.
On the final note, Mr. Muhammad Jehanzeb Shahid (Deputy Manager Ignite Monitoring) praised Ms. Zareesh Zahra (Ignite Focal person in SZABIST) for timely and up-to-mark working coordination. Also, declared the visit as excellent and professional. ORIC-SZABIST presented a souvenir to the guest as a token of thanks.
