SZABIST, Team ORIC (Office of Research Innovation & Commercialization) went to the Association of Builders and Developers of Pakistan- ABAD HOUSE.
Dr.Bilal Ahmed – Director ORIC, Ms. Zareesh Zehra- Research Associate and Junaid Javed – Admin, Assistant represent SZABIST – ORIC , while Mr. Fayyaz Ilyas- Chairman ABAD , Engr. Danish Bin RaufChairman Southern Region (SR), Mr. Mahmood Tabba – Convener Seminars & Workshops SubCommittee , welcome the team and host the meeting.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the ideas for Engagement of SZABIST Students on Research
Projects incorporated in 5 different programs.
1- Engaging Top Data Scientists
2- Engaging Top Digital Marketing Agencies
3- Engaging Top Outdoor Marketing Agencies
4- Engaging Top Sales Consultants
5- Engaging Students in Research
After the recitation of Holy Quran verse, meeting begins with the formal introduction. Engr. Danish Bin Rauf gives brief introduction of ABAD, “is a national level representative organization of builders and developers, formed in the year 1972 with the aim and objective of unifying and streamlining the construction activities of private sector.” He further share his concerns to specific research areas i.e. Cement and Steel. As the focus and purpose of meeting is to engage researchers and students with industrial experts. SZABSIT’s outstanding Law and Management science department turns out as theultimate interest of ABAD.
Dr.Bilal Ahmed – Director ORIC firstly brief about SZABIST and ORIC, and shares his vision and wisdom about what we could do, real time implementations, and practical possibilities to connect university student , faculty and researchers with industrial grounds and bring sustainability to society.
Both the teams conclude to have some joint ventures in which they utilize common resources, students will conduct research regarding Steel & Cement, arrange site visit, study tours in construction and development Industry, commit to conduct few research projects in which SZABIST researchers and Final Year Project students would connect with ABAD consultants. However, some seminars and workshops would also be conduct for group of students with Industrial experts to develop connectivity between Industry and Academic studies.
Meeting ends with thanking note and shields were presented as token of appreciation. ORIC is looking forward to strengthen the ties between Academia and Industry.
