SZABIST Karachi: A one day training workshop has been conducted by ORIC (Office of Research Innovation & Commercialization) in collaboration with Education department on usage of “NVivo (QDA) Software Professional Training” held on 22nd Feb’2020 at Lab 3,
1st Floor Campus 100, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (SZABIST), Block 5 Clifton, Karachi.
Dr. Ahmad Hussain-Director ORIC gives the opening remarks and welcome the students by encouraging them to do something across the certainty in the field of research. This training program was best suited for scholars, researchers, students, and people who needs to use qualitative research method and mix research methodology in their thesis, projects and dissertations. The course was designed for beginners and researchers who wish to learn the NVivo understanding and usage.
Dr. Mudassar Aziz a faculty member of the department of social sciences gives the training, in which he defines Nvivo’s Relevance of the skill in today’s world, Imperative for researchers. Relevance in quantitative research. Creating a new project, Creating new nodes,
Importing and organizing data, Taking notes, Analyzing data, Displaying data in charts and diagrams, Add data sources to NVivo (text, image, audio visual), Create thematic nodes for coding, Code data using thematic nodes. Organize node hierarchies for coding, Use two tools to interrogate your coding and sources (diagrams and word trees), Generate simple coding reports that can be share, Basic report writing in Nvivo. More than 31 students participated in the training workshop. The training ends with closing ceremony and certificate distribution. All the Participants gives wonderful learning feedback
